      Reggae Artist SPLOW …………………………. Splow The WashBelly

 

     Born in Kingston, Jamaica Splow migrated to the United States at a early age.. The move to Los Angeles, CA in1987 was the start Splow needed to refine and showcase his skills as a artist. Splow started to Dj and perform in clubs and dancehall venue at a very young age. Many times Splow found himself too young to enter clubs and and dancehall setting but this never stopped  him in the pursuit of his music career. Performing in parks, house parties and public celebrations Splow was determine to fine his notch in the music scene. This was the start of Splow music career that continues on to this day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

             

“Music is everything, music is his life”. Splow’s music is universal due to his unique and vibrant style which captivates listeners through its melodic rhythm and inspirational lyrics that speaks to the heart, promotes togetherness and strengthens differences. Splow is an artist, songwriter, producer and CEO of his own production company Love Unity & Respect (L.U.R) Productions. No doubt after his spirit of positivity. SPLOW immediately staked his place in the music industry with his chart topper "Players Confession" from his album "Hard Work + Time = $ on the DBS Worldwide imprint. Players Confession hit the carts in Japan and held the number three spot for several weeks and remained on the top 15 charts for 5 MONTHS!!! The music video is still in rotation on BET's Caribbean Rhythms and various video shows in Canada as well. 

2003 netted Splow "Artist of the Year" and "Best Hip Hop Performance "nominations at the "South Bay Music Awards" held January 2004. Joining Splow at that award show was renowned rocker Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson as winner and presenter, respectively. Splow has remain a constant in the top echelon of Reggae/Hip Hop with live performances and collaborations with Ms. Bree, Rocafella's sensation, as well as film/television soundtracks for Miramax/Sony projects. Film/Television music powerhouse Centerline Music and Entertainment recorded Splow for the film "Loco". 

In 2004, SPLOW recorded "Redemption...Reggae, Hip Hop Reunion" for indie label Master Key Entertainment and the singles "Ruggii" and "Lovin You" that exploded on the California club scene as well as Tokyo Japan. "Lovin You" was remixed at the request of the Chicago Steppers Union for inclusion in their national competition mix and premiered at the 1st Fridays Chicago Step Set held each month at Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California. More than 300 partiers rush the dance floor for the only Reggae flavored Steppers released in 2004. Tokyo, Japan's "Joint One Radio Show" has over 37 million listeners…it is the only prime time Hip Hop show in Asia who let "Ruggi" out of the bag and created an explosive Splow cult following. 

His life is musically personified! His modus operandi epitomizes the artist’s life; after all “Music is everything; music is (his) life.” Yes, it’s an everyday thing to find Splow writing, recording and producing for himself or other artist. He has recorded with the likes of stellar talents such as Kurupt, Shock G of Digital Underground and shared the stage with A-list talent like Slick Rick, Suga Free, Old Dirty Bastard and Silkski of Wu Tang's Brooklyn Zu. Splow even performed with Dave Hollister of the group Black Street, just to show his diversity. In 2013, Splow established an up and lively, online radio channel entitled islandviberadio where he hosts and DJs, exposing his listeners to a genre of reggae music. In 2015, Splow performed alongside stellar reggae artist Alkaline as well as Spice.  Indeed everything music is embedded in what Splow does. His philosophy is "Music is love, so I will forever spread love through music.” Mr. Splow!

Splow continued his music and Dj career over the years. Over the years Performed in many local clubs, dance halls and parks in and around Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Malibu. Blazing many venues large and small Splow brings it every time. Support Local celebrations such as The 4 of July, Jamaica’s Independence day and Belize Independence day as well.  A career which expanded beyond the  borders of the United Staes and Jamaica. Performance with artist such as Magum Flow and Tego Calderon boosted his Presence and fan base in Latin Countries such as El Salvador, Mexico and more. Splow gained popularity in the Latin communities after a stella live performance at the Nokia Center in Los Angeles, CA. Splow was the only Reggae Act Featured and the billing which was headed by Latin Super Star Tego Calderon who was also one of the star in the hit movie The Fast and The Furious. Splow continued to build his Latin fan base by putting on memorable performance on stage from 2011 to 2013. Splow have teamed up with artist such as Glasses Malone, David Rolas, Slims and many more. 

Splow never stopped Doing what he loves performing, producing, writing and spinning music in the club or on his internet radio site, Island Vibes Radio (I.V.R. www.islandvibesradio.com). On June 19th 2015 Splow have share the with Dancehall star Alkaline in Chicago, Illinois . once again Splow got to showcase his skills to over 200 hype and cheering fans. Splow headed to Chicago once again to share the stage with famale Dancehall artist Spice on November 14, 2015. This time because of Spice not being able to appear Splow became the Headliner and did what he does best to please the fans and promoters. Now in the studio working on his WashBelly Album, Splow is still writing and producing for his own projects as well as other artists.
